CHEMICAL PEELS
After a chemical peel, proper aftercare is essential to ensure optimal healing and to avoid complications.

1. Keep the Skin Hydrated

-
Moisturize regularly: Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and prevent dryness or tightness.
-
Avoid heavy creams: For the first few days, avoid using rich, thick creams that can clog pores or irritate sensitive skin.
2. Sun Protection

-
Apply sunscreen daily: After a chemical peel, your skin is more sensitive to UV rays. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 or higher, and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure: For at least 1–2 weeks after the peel, stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible. Wear a wide-brimmed hat or use physical barriers like umbrellas when outside.
3. Gentle Cleansing
-
Use a mild cleanser: Cleanse your skin with a gentle, non-abrasive, fragrance-free cleanser. Avoid scrubbing or using exfoliating products for at least 7–10 days.
-
Lukewarm water: Wash your face with lukewarm water, not hot, as hot water can irritate freshly treated skin.
4. Avoid Scratching or Picking
-
Do not pick or peel the skin: Your skin may flake or peel as it heals, but resist the urge to pick at it. This could cause scarring or infection. Let the skin shed naturally.
5. Avoid Harsh Treatments
-
Skip exfoliating products: Do not use alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), or retinoids for at least a week or as recommended by your skincare provider.
-
Avoid facial treatments: Refrain from other procedures like microdermabrasion, laser treatments, or facials until your skin has fully healed.
6. Expect Redness and Peeling
-
Redness and peeling are normal: The skin may be red, irritated, or swollen for a few days after the peel, and peeling typically begins 2-3 days after the procedure. This can last anywhere from 5 to 7 days, depending on the depth of the peel.
-
Keep your skin cool: If your skin feels inflamed or hot, you can use a cool compress (a clean cloth with cool water) to soothe the area.
8. Limit Physical Activity
-
Avoid strenuous exercise: For the first 48 hours after the peel, avoid sweating excessively or engaging in intense physical activities, as it may irritate the skin.
-
No saunas or hot tubs: Heat can cause further irritation, so it's best to avoid these activities until your skin has healed.
9. Be Patient
-
Healing takes time: It can take several days to a few weeks for the skin to fully recover, depending on the strength of the peel. Be patient and avoid rushing the process.
-
Continue with gentle care: Even after the skin stops peeling, continue using gentle, hydrating skincare products to support the healing process.
10. Signs to Watch For
-
Signs of infection: If you notice signs of infection such as excessive redness, swelling, pus, or pain, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
-
Abnormal reactions: If you experience severe irritation, blistering, or discoloration that lasts longer than expected, it's important to consult with your dermatologist.
By following these aftercare instructions, you can help ensure that your skin heals properly and that you achieve the best possible results from your chemical peel.
LASH LIFT/BROW LAMINATION
1. Avoid Water for the First 5–24 Hours
-
No wetting: For at least 5 hours (or up to 24 hours), avoid getting your brows or lashes wet. This includes not washing your face or getting them damp while showering.
-
No swimming or sweating: Stay away from activities that cause sweating or involve exposure to water (e.g., swimming, hot tubs, saunas) for at least 24 hours.
2. Avoid Oil-Based Products, We suggest Vaseline.
-
No oil-based cleansers: For at least the first week after your lamination, avoid using oil-based makeup removers or skincare products around the brow or lash area.
-
Oil can break down the lamination: Oils can interfere with the treatment and cause the brow or lash shape to lose its hold faster.
-
We strongly recommend using vaseline. his will help nourish and maintain their health. With proper aftercare, you can expect your results to last between 4 to 6 weeks.
3. Gentle Cleaning
-
Cleanse with care: Use a gentle, non-oily cleanser to remove makeup or dirt. Cleanse your face around the brows and lashes, but avoid directly rubbing or scrubbing the laminated areas.
-
Lashes: For lashes, use a gentle lash cleanser or micellar water (oil-free) with a cotton pad. You can also use a clean spoolie to gently brush them after cleansing.
4. No Makeup for 24–48 Hours
-
Avoid makeup immediately after: For the first 24–48 hours after lamination, try not to apply makeup, especially mascara or brow makeup, as it could interfere with the setting process or cause irritation.
-
No mascara on lashes: If you do wear mascara after the 24-hour mark, use a non-waterproof formula, as waterproof mascara can be harder to remove and potentially damage your lashes.
5. Brush Your Lashes and Brows
-
Use a clean spoolie: Gently brush your laminated lashes or brows every day to keep them in place and maintain their shape. For brows, brushing them into place helps set the desired arch, and for lashes, brushing them upward can help maintain their lift.
-
Lash serums.
6. Avoid Touching or Rubbing
-
Don’t tug at your brows or lashes: Avoid rubbing or touching your laminated areas excessively, as this can weaken the shape and cause irritation.
-
Be careful when sleeping: Try not to sleep on your face or squish your brows and lashes into the pillow. This can disrupt the set shape.
7. Avoid Steam and Heat
-
Limit exposure to heat: For at least 48 hours, avoid prolonged exposure to steam, saunas, or hot showers. Excessive heat and steam can weaken the lamination and affect the longevity of the treatment.
8. Avoid Harsh Treatments
-
Skip other brow or lash treatments: For 4–6 weeks after lamination, avoid getting other treatments such as tinting, waxing, or threading your brows. Similarly, avoid using eyelash curlers on your laminated lashes.
-
No chemical exfoliation: Avoid exfoliating products (like glycolic or salicylic acid) near your brows and lashes as they can weaken the lamination and irritate the sensitive skin in these areas.
9. Regular Maintenance
-
Lamination lasts 6–8 weeks: Brow and lash lamination typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle, the strength of the lamination, and how well you follow aftercare. At this point, you may need to schedule a touch-up or re-lamination.
-
Hydrate the hairs: Occasionally, you can use vaseline or brow/lash conditioner (preferably one recommended by your technician) to keep the hairs soft and hydrated.
10. Signs of Irritation or Damage
-
Be alert for irritation: If you experience excessive redness, swelling, itching, or burning, contact your technician or a dermatologist immediately. These could be signs of an allergic reaction or irritation from the chemicals.
-
Avoid further treatments: If irritation occurs, avoid any further brow or lash treatments until the irritation resolves.
By following these aftercare instructions, you can ensure your brow and lash lamination lasts longer and stays healthy.
